An Evening with Manfrotto and 15% Discount!

Last Thursday I attended an event at the Sanderson Hotel in London. It was hosted in a beautiful hotel room on the 7th floor, with lots of different set up's all over the place demonstrating different Photography techniques for blogging!
Unfortunately due to working, I wasn't able to make the entire event and pretty much missed everyone else who had been there (bit of a shame) but it was actually kinda nice to, as I had all the Monfrotto guys all to myself to talk about all the kit!

They made everything look so appealing and the design of the whole place was stunning. I was really impressed with the visuals of it all. But I guess that's the point of it all after all!

Each room had it's own thing going on and it was interesting to see the different ways each set up had been done. Definitely helped with some inspiration on how to take photos in the future!

One of the things that stood out to me most though was the Digital Director. It was an incredible device that allowed you to have full control of all your camera functions through an electronic device that is connected to your iPad. Using a USB cable up to 10 meters (33 ft), you have a totally reliable, high-performance connection between your Canon or Nikon DSLR and iPad that’s always stable. Digital Director also enables you to place the camera even in the most awkward or difficult to reach positions and conveniently control it remotely.

It does only work with Canon and Nikon cameras at the moment, but like everything, that could change over time!

 The Digital Director in Action!

All in all I had a lovely time at the event and gained some valuable information and tips about the products Manfrotto have to offer and ways in which they can help strengthen my photography skills.

They've also kindly allowed me to give you guys 15% off on any of their products on their website over £20! Visit www.monfrotto.co.uk to start getting some ideas and get some great savings! Use the code: MAN593. The offer expires on the 31st August so get looking!
I personally recommend having a look at the Pixi Tripods. They are adorable and exceptionally sturdy too! Great fort travelling with too!

The Sunday Edit: Made in Chelsea

I've been thinking about doing a photo series of different places around London lately and these are just a few I took on my walk home the other day, and are what inspired me to do it. I've decided to just have my camera with me EVERYWHERE from now on also, so I can snap away at any point. I feel I'm always wishing I had it on me so now, I always will!
So these are some I took in Chelsea. This place is such a mixed bag that I'm pretty sure I'm gonna do a more in depth photo series later on. I love the ix of people and also the surroundings. It's incredibly fascinating to be surrounded by the very rich inhabitants of London.

The Sunday Edit: Home Comforts

When you're moving house a lot, it can often be quite hard to feel properly at home. That's when those small home comforts come into play! These are completely unique to each person yet all have the ability to make people feel just that little more settled and happy.
For me it's filling my home as best I can with the things that my parents always had around the house. Things like bookcases full of books, lots of flowers around the house, soft furnishings all over the place and pictures everywhere! This is what makes me feel most comforted and happy.

There is still a fair bit to do around my new flat, it's coming together slowly but just those personal touches have yet to be added such as pictures and homely trinkets!
Sorry it's a short one today, but I'm rather enjoying a Sunday of nothing after a really busy, jam-packed few weeks.

Life Lately #1 - Moving House

I was doing pretty well with my posts up until the last week or so, but as I'm sure you have guessed from the title, I moved house! And what a move it was!

I only managed to get one extra day off over the weekend so had three days to pack everything, pick up my hire van, get everything in the van, into my flat and then to somewhat unpack and get to Ikea as well. Put two full working weeks as a Visual Merchandiser during Summer Clearance either side of that and it's safe to say that I am now shattered. Luckily though, I have today off to simply chill out, recover from that mental couple of weeks and casually unpack throughout the day while my friend Amy (who is staying a couple of nights in the spare room) watches on!

There is still quite a bit to do in the flat like buying some bits of furniture such as a couple of bookcases, a coffee table and a TV for down stairs. Plus we still have one housemate to move in, our friend Milly, but soon enough it'll all be sorted and feeling nice and homely! I'll make sure to post some photos when it's all completed!
It was fairly bittersweet leaving my old place behind. I had some good memories there (and some not so good..) and I will miss the boys I lived with a huge amount, they were great fun to live with and are some of my best friends here in London. Luckily though they've only moved just across the River from me so I've no doubt I will see them plenty to hang out. For now though, I need to focus on making this place my new haven and I have to say, it's already coming along together nicely and so far, I'm loving it. Good news!

Here are a few snippets of me moving!

My room before I'd pretty much started. It was a bit stuffed up!

Getting there!
I can't pack/unpack without a cup of tea! Or screws if this picture is anything to go by...

Last few gazes out of that beautiful Victorian window. I'm really gonna miss sitting next to that with a cuppa and my thoughts.

The new place unfolds!

Amie starting to unpack her room!

My friend Amy who is visiting during all the chaos. Lucky girl!

We haven't got the TV set up yet so this is it for now!
